In an emotional video, YouTube star and beauty expert Ingrid Nilsen, aka Miss Glamorazzi, announces to her 3.3 million followers that she is gay.
“I’m gay. It feels so good to say that!” she says to her loyal online community. “I’m shaking right now because this moment is real and it’s here. And I’ve been waiting for this.”
The YouTube beauty channels have been dominated by the super feminine, boyfriend-chasing type, and seem to have followed a fairly narrow script – tons of women, gay men, and trans, but not many lesbians. Considering this, her decision to publicly come out and rock her true self is made even more awesome and badass.
The 26-year-old social media rockstar stated in her video, “I want to live my life unapologetically because I am proud of who I am and I am not going to apologize for who I am anymore. This is the life that I have always lived in my head and now it’s real.”
In closing: Everyone, be you. You’re fucking awesome, and as Ingrid says, “we all deserve our best chance.”
