The tragic spring of 2016 continues. We have lost names like Prince, Ali, Kimbo Slice, and Ron Lester among others. Today, another actor has passed on way too soon. Anton Yelchin, most noted for playing Chekov in the incredibly successful revival of Star Trek passed away today at the age of 27. TMZ reported his death as a “freak accident.” The details are still coming out about his death, but early reports say that his became pinned between his car and a brick mailbox. At this point in the investigation, the police do not expect to find foul play.

This author remembers him most from an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he played Cheryl David’s nephew. During his stay at the home, Yelchin confounded Larry David with his ability to do magic:

Anton was born in Russia but made his way over to the United States and had a career track that looked incredibly promising.

Rest in peace Anton.

Thanks to TMZ for story and Wikipedia for information on Anton.
